DGM New York received a call for assistance in packaging lithium ion batteries according to IMDG code located in Newport, RI. The lithium batteries were being used as part of Volvo Ocean Race.
The confirmation from the shipper to proceed was given on a Thursday morning and the on-site needed to be preformed Saturday morning. DGM New York was able to mobilize and make the 500 mile round trip. Despite major set backs due to poor weather and traffic delays all of the time lines were met.
